Mantel Progress!

The mantel project is finally coming along. We finished the big “pallet art” inspired piece, so we are almost there!

With masking tape, left over from the painted pumpkins project, some left over 2×6’s from our decking project and some white spray paint, also left over from our pumpkin project, we were able to finish the center piece of the mantel project. The over-all process looked a little like this….

The “K” was cut from plywood, left over from another household project and spray-paint with the color that matches our curtains.

And while my awesome hubby cut the “K” out with a jigsaw, I snapped this shot outside. It was such a pretty fall day!

And the current product:

It’s not quite finished yet, but it’s not as boring as it was before. (See before pic here.)

We need to sand some over-spray spots off of the boards and find some mason jars to use as candle holders, but I see the end in sight! Yay!

Did you begin/complete any DIY projects this weekend?
